Literacy Campaign

This initiative is based on promoting #BeTheChange you want to see happen. By developing a hub- data base of literacy tools and help disseminate in disadvantaged communities by developing mobile libraries and in storage literacy centre campaigns. The Foundation will be happy to get donations of variety of books which will meet the demand of teaching the less fortunate to improve their literacy cycle (meaning learning/improving how to read, write and speak in any of 11 official South African languages according to the definition of CPSLF). The donated books will also be used by the Foundation to (i) provide STEM career guidance to young adults regarding career to follow (ii) personal development, self-esteem and motivation and lastly (iii) Will help be an eye opener to youth who are indecisive of what degrees in STEM to attempt in tertiary level.

The purpose of the initiative

Taking part in making a difference where possible in educating our people. As we realized that the lack of good education, especially in STEM, and the implementation of the literacy cycle is at stake in our country in disadvantaged communities.

Sadly enough this starts from children who did not get good foundation from early age, teenage kids who never even got a chance to go to school, young adults who quit school due unforeseen circumstances, and adults who, be-cause of poverty, gave up on education and on being literate!! So if you want to donate books or take part in our outreach events, fill an online volunteer form and on the initiative column select: Book donations and literacy centre campaign. We will then contact you regarding book donations logistics.
